Ajman University has achieved a landmark by becoming the first institution in the UAE and the second in the MENA region to join the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN). This milestone underscores the University's steadfast commitment to sustainability and global collaboration.
Maya Haddad, Sustainability Manager at Ajman University, highlighted the pivotal role of sustainability in the UAE's journey towards climate neutrality by 2050. She stated, "Our membership in the ISCN is a testament to our alignment with the UAE’s national sustainability goals and our commitment to fostering global partnerships and implementing innovative projects. We are dedicated to integrating sustainability into every aspect of our institution, thereby empowering our community to make a significant impact on the global environment.”
Joining the ISCN enables Ajman University to integrate leading sustainability strategies seamlessly into operations, academia and research and positions it as a key advocate for local, regional, and global sustainability. Additionally, the ISCN network provides a platform for Ajman University to showcase its ongoing sustainability initiatives and achievements to a global audience. This increased visibility not only inspires others but also allows them to learn from the shared experiences of fellow ISCN members. The network comprises 109 prestigious universities worldwide, including Harvard, MIT, and Yale, further highlighting the significance of this achievement.
