The Nature Positive Universities Alliance is a global network of universities committed to prioritizing nature restoration, which was launched on December 8th in Montreal in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the University of Oxford. This coalition of 577 universities from 115 countries has obtained high-level promises from 136 universities to address and restore the environmental consequences of their institutions. Furthermore, the Nature Positive Student Ambassadors programme, with 364 student ambassadors from 46 countries, has been developed, encouraging students to take action for nature on their campuses and share information and experiences internationally. The partnership thinks that colleges should use their power to guide their communities on a Nature Positive path, bringing together efforts to address climate and biodiversity challenges while simultaneously promoting resilient ecosystems and assisting nature in its recovery while reducing climate change. During COP15, Ajman University (AU) proudly announced its membership in this partnership, reiterating its commitment to supporting environmental restoration and sustainability on campus and within its community.
