The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) is an outstanding organization committed to environmental conservation and long-term development. Since its inception in 1991, EEG has had substantial development and influence, attracting members from a wide range of backgrounds, including students, people, families, business entities, government agencies, educational institutions, and international organizations. What distinguishes EEG is its dedication to environmental quality and its multiple accreditations, including the distinction of being the world's first environmental NGO to receive ISO 14001 certification. The fact that EEG is recognized by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) demonstrates its worldwide significance. Furthermore, EEG's active engagement in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and membership in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) highlight its global importance and reputation. EEG's goals are similarly significant, focusing on education, community engagement, and long-term waste management, making it an important force for environmental conservation in the UAE and the Middle East. Ajman University has been a prominent member of the Emirates Environmental Group (EGG) for over two years, actively engaging in a wide range of environmental activities, including panel discussions, workshops, and recycling initiatives.
